Buying a puppy may not be what everyone wants and some people may prefer to take in an older dog. Private adverts for dogs seeking good homes can be found anywhere nowadays, with so many being advertised for cheap and even free. If you are thinking about acquiring an older dog to join your family, again PLEASE make sure you take the time to research the breed of dog you would like, before purchasing it. Below are some questions you can ask the private seller.
- Why are you selling the dog?
- Is the dog up-to-date with vaccinations?
- Is the dog microchipped?
- Has the dog been spayed/neutered?
- Does the dog have any medical issues?
- Has the dog ever shown any kind of aggressive or possessive behaviour?
- What training has the dog had?
- Is he house broken?
- Has the dog been crate trained?
- What kind of diet is the dog on?
- Is he/she used to other dogs?
- Is he/she good with children?
- Is he/she good with cats and other animals?
- What are the dog's likes and dislikes?
